On December 7-8, 2017, the Nazarbayev University School of Medicine hosted the official meeting of the ProInCa “Promoting the innovative potential of higher education in the field of nursing for health care reform” project co-funded by Erasmus + . At the meeting, the Head of the International Cooperation and Academic Mobility Department Izmailbayeva Zarina Rashidovna, the Assistant of the Department of Propedeutics Internal Diseases Zhetmekova Zhuldyz Turekhanovna and the Head of the Department of Dermatovenereology and Cosmetology Akhmetova Almira Kaalikapasovna held focus groups and workshops, discussed further activities of joint work with representatives of the Angela Boshkin Faculty of Health Care (Slovenia) for work package 2.2 “Efficiency and quality based on evidence-based nursing”.
The project coordinators JAMK University of Applied Sciences described in detail the instructions for using the grant and the guidelines for the design documentation of the project.
The associated project partners from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Science, RCHD were also attended meting and noted the importance of ProInCa in developing and supporting the health system of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in particular science, evidence-based practice and leadership in nursing.
As part of the project co-funded by the Erasmus + program of European union ProInCa – “Promoting the innovative capacity of higher education in the field of nursing in transition of health care,” – assistant of the Internal Diseases Propedeutics department Zhuldyz Zhetmekova and Head of the Dermatovenereology and Cosmetology Department Akhmetova Almira at 16-20 April 2018 visited the master class “Center for Nursing Excellence” at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, the Netherlands.
The purpose of the master class was to create a center of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the dissemination of global best practices and new knowledge in nursing. During the master class, a platform interface was developed, target users and content were identified that need for the future center of nursing excellence. Partners from Hanze University of Applied Sciences shared their experience in creating such centers, conducted review seminars on current topics in nursing.
As part of the project co-funded by the Erasmus + program ProInCa – “Promoting the innovative capacity of higher education in the field of nursing in transition of health care” in October 01-07, 2018 assistants of the propaedeutics of internal diseases department Zhetmekova Zhuldyz and Sharapiyeva Alua, vice-rector for international cooperation and strategic to partnership Aidosov Nurzhan Sarsynbekovich, head of the innovation in medical education department Zhunusova Aigul Bitimbaevna, PhD student of the 3rd year Kyrykbaeva Saltanat Sayatovna had a working visit to Finland.
The first day began with a visit to the children’s hospital in Helsinki. Especially for young patients, each floor of the hospital was dedicated to the characters of the Mummi Troll book series by the famous Swedish writer Tove Janson. Modern equipment for the treatment and prevention of diseases and spacious rooms and chambers with everything needed were planned to ensure the convenience and safety of patients and their relatives. In one of the lecture halls, the staff of the HOTUS organization, which plays an important role in supporting research activities among nurses and in developing evidence-based nursing practice, shared their experiences in organizing research in collaboration with practical healthcare.
The next event, master class “Leadership in Nursing” was held at Lahti University of Applied Sciences. The purpose of this master class is the development of national teaching materials to improve the leadership competencies of students, teachers and nursing professionals of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the master class, materials were developed for an electronic platform on the topic of strategic management, leading teams and professionals and ethics in nursing management.
Vice-Rector of international cooperation and strategic partnership Aidosov Nurzhan Sarsynbekovich and head of the medical education innovation department Zhunusova Aigul Bitimbaevna visited the JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Jyväskylä to participate in the board of academic advisors. Council members familiarized themselves with the progress of the project, discussed relevant events and further development of cooperation within the framework of the consortium.
As part of the ProInCa – “Promoting the innovative potential of higher education in the field of nursing for health care reform” project co-funded by the Erasmus + program at 10-16 November, 2018, head of the department of dermatovenereology and cosmetology Akhmetova Almira Kalikapasovna and assistant of the department of dermatovenereology and cosmetology Kassym Laura Talmatatzyzy conducted master class at the Angela Boshken Faculty of Healthcare in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The purpose of this master class is the development of national teaching materials to improve the competence of evidence-based practice among students, teachers and nursing professionals of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the master class, the staff of the Semey State Medical University and the Angela Boshken Faculty of Healthcare presented to the project partners for the introduction of evidence-based practice in Kazakhstan and an analysis of the educational program in the Nursing specialty. Following the master class, evidence-based nursing practice materials were developed for the level of applied and academic bachelor’s programs, as well as master’s program in nursing.
