  • Coordination of the department’s work.
  • Development of the University Development Program.
  • Monitoring of execution of State Programs, Development Programs, Roadmaps.
  • Development of KPI system.
  • Participation in the internal audits of the university.
  • Coordinate the conclusion of memorandums with universities on the RK and foreign universities and organizations.
  • Coordination of the work on academic mobility of students and Faculty Mobility.
  • Preparation of internal regulations within the framework of department activities.
  • Coordination of the QMS functioning.
  • Preparation of documents for participation in national and international ratings.

Brief Information about the Unit

The Strategic Development and International Cooperation Department was formed in 2022, by merging two important strategic departments:

  1. Department of Strategy and Quality Management System.
  2. Department of International Cooperation and Academic Mobility.

Department of strategic development and international cooperation is a structural subdivision of Semey Medical University, NCJSC.

We work in two directions:

1) Strategic development and QMS – the department coordinates the activities of the structural units of the University for the development and adjustment of the Development Strategy and plans of the University, control over their implementation, as well as the overall coordination of quality management system based on the process approach. Developed the University Strategic Plan for 2017-2021, NCJSC “SMU” Development Program for 2020-2024, implemented a motivational system of differential pay, successful coordination of the University Strategic Partnership, implementation of performance indicators for departments and administrative staff , the successful passage of institutional accreditation. In 2022 the Quality Manual of NCJSC “SMU” was developed, inspection audit for compliance with NS RK ISO 9001-2016 was successfully passed.

2) International cooperation – the department carries out coordination of all international activity of university:

  • International academic mobility of students, teaching staff and administrative staff.
  • Overseas internships for faculty and administrative staff.
  • Maintaining business correspondence and signing memorandums, agreements.
  • Attracting visiting professors for the purpose of faculty and doctor qualification improvement.
  • Implementation of international projects.
  • Translation of strategically important documents.

At the moment, the academic mobility program of students and teaching staff is successfully realized, also 63 memorandums of Cooperation with foreign partners, clinics and research institutes are concluded. In the implementation of projects, there are 2 international projects (Erasmus+, DAAD).

  • Development process of the Quality Policy and Objectives of NCJSC “SMU”.
  • Development of draft organizational-administrative documents of NCJSC “MUS”, relating to the QMS.
