Members of the student scientific circle “Information Technologies in Medical Research” of the Department of General Educational Disciplines of NCJSC “Semey Medical University” since last year became part of the International Student Scientific Society (ISSO), functioning on the basis of the Ural State Medical University (USMU) under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department of Psychiatry Academician RAE, MD S.I. Bogdanov. On November 7, 2022, students of the Semey Medical University took part in the V All-Russian Championship “Medical Soft Skills”, which is held annually on the basis of USMU (Yekaterinburg, Russia) as part of the work of the MSCE.
The championship started with a team competition IT-battle of the direction “Information technologies for the digital transformation of medical education, medical science and telemedicine”. The team of NCJSC “Semey Medical University” with the name “IT-medic” was represented by students of the specialty “General Medicine”: Bayakhmetov Temirkhan (4th course), Abdrakhmanov Aidar (4th course), Samand Abdulkabir (2nd course) (Team неаder: Mussatayeva I.S.) The teams of USMU and Osh State University (Kyrgyzstan) were also represented. According to the results of all stages of the IT-battle, the team of NCJSC “SMU” took the honorary prize 1st place and became the Champion.
During the Championship, presentations by leading experts were presented. As a speaker with a report on the topic “Training of IT doctors in Kazakhstan: achievements and problems”, a member of the expert group, Mussatayeva I.S.
In the individual stage of the Championship: students of NCJSC “SMU” Bayakhmetov Temirkhan (4th course), Abdrakhmanov Aidar (4th course), Kalelova Malika (2nd course) took part. At the correspondence stage, the participants presented their research projects in the form of a presentation. Then the on-site stage took place: a competition in theoretical training and practical skills in using information technologies to solve the practical aspects of medical science, medical education and telemedicine. According to the sum of points of all stages, the top five was formed, which included T. Bayakhmetov and M. Kalelova. At the stage of the Slam Championship, they defended presentations on their scientific research before the experts. As a result, according to the results of the final stage and the decision of the experts, the title of Champion and the honorary 1st place was taken by Kalelova Malika with a report on the topic “Electronic sign language interpreter for the deaf and dumb” (Scientific adviser I.S. Mussatayeva).
