Equipment, including Greentest ECO 4F, Greentest mini, UNI–T UT363BT Air flow velocity and temperature meter was purchased at the Department of Public Health of the NCJSC “Semey Medical University”, within the framework of the Erasmus+ project “Harmonization and mutual recognition of master’s programs in the field of occupational and environmental health – Harmonee”. Greentest ECO 4F and Greentest mini testers are multifunctional devices and are used to monitor the environmental situation, including determination of nitrate levels in food products (fruits, vegetables, meat, fish), as well as water hardness and radiation background. UT363BT is a mini airflow speed and temperature tester equipped with the latest magnetic sensing technology, which can directly display the airflow speed on a liquid crystal display.
This equipment will be used to develop the competencies of undergraduates of the specialties “Medical and preventive care” and “Public health” in the study of a number of disciplines – “Hygienic assessment of the impact of environmental factors on public health”, “Food safety management”, “Hygienic rationing of environmental factors”. Currently, the above devices are also used at the undergraduate level for the development of competencies by students of the specialty “Public Health” when studying the discipline “Healthy nutrition and food safety”. Associate Professor of the Department of Public Health TokeshevaSh.M. at a practical lesson: “Hygienic requirements for the quality and safety of food products” demonstrated a practical skill in measuring the content of nitrates and determining the radiation background in fresh vegetables and fruits.
In the future, the equipment purchased with the financing of Erasmus+ will be used in the study of a number of other disciplines of the master’s and bachelor’s degree, which will contribute to the development of the competence of students.
