The Ambassador of Pakistan in Kazakhstan Sajjad Ahmed Seehar visited SMU on March 10. At the university, the guest of honor held a series of meetings with the staff and foreign students from Pakistan, as well as visiting clinical facilities of the university.
The guest of honor was met by the staff of the university, headed by the Chairman of the Board – Rector of SMU Altai Dyusupov. In his speech, Altai Akhmetkalievich warmly welcomed Mr. Sajjad Ahmed Seehar, expressed his gratitude for the visit and told the guest of honor about the opportunities and strengths of the university.
“I am pleased to welcome in the walls of our alma mater the guest of honor – the Ambassador of Pakistan in Kazakhstan. Our university is one of the oldest in Kazakhstan – almost 70 years. For all these decades, our doors have been open to all those who seek knowledge and new discoveries. Our university is famous far beyond the borders of Kazakhstan thanks to its strong schools, experienced faculty, modern educational programs, high material and technical equipment and broad partnership relations,” Altai Akhmetkalievich noted. Speaking of geography – Medical University Semey trains not only local students, but also students from near and far abroad countries, including Uzbekistan, India, Yemen and Pakistan. Speaking of these achievements, the rector of the university especially emphasized the long-standing friendly and partnership ties between Kazakhstan and Pakistan, which are only getting stronger every year.
Mr. Sajjad Ahmed Seehar in his speech also noted the special friendly ties between Kazakhstan and Pakistan, and one of the bridges in strengthening the friendship between the two countries, the exchange of cultural and spiritual values, highlighted to be SMU.
“I am very glad to visit this wonderful university, in the past I have heard many good reviews about you, that students are given strong knowledge here, and coming here today I was convinced that all these reviews are justified,” the Pakistani ambassador to Kazakhstan said. “Just recently we celebrated 30 years of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Pakistan. It is gratifying that despite the great distance between our countries, we have been able to build strong friendly relations. One of the goals of my visit is to expand our partnerships, including with your university. We could more closely exchange students, experience, our achievements, “- added Mr. Sajjad Ahmed Seehar.
Rector Altai Dyusupov also expressed his willingness to expand partnerships. “We are always open and happy to cooperate. I’m sure it will be mutually beneficial for all of us,” said Altai Akhmetkalievich. Mr. Sajjad Ahmed Seehar also congratulated the Kazakhstani people on the upcoming Nauryz Meiramy.
“I know that a beautiful spring holiday – Nauryz Meiramy – is forthcoming in Kazakhstan. I sincerely congratulate you on this holiday and wish all Kazakhstanis the best,” said the Pakistani ambassador in Kazakhstan.
The guest of honor was also given a tour of the university. The richest library fund, own studio, where video-lectures are produced, university museum, lecture halls, classrooms were presented. Mr. Ambassador also visited the Department of simulation technologies, the University Hospital – its own largest clinical base, where the students consolidate their knowledge in practice, as well as the Emergency Medical Care Hospital of Semey – one of the most modern and equipped medical institutions in the region.
