KazMSA activists, in particular the SCOPH Standing Committee on Public Health, held an online event on the theme «All about vaccination». On this topical theme, the students interviewed the head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Immunology, Candidate of Medical Sciences, docent, infectious disease doctor of the highest category Saule Maukayeva.
In the current epidemiological situation, the topic of vaccination is relevant and in demand all over the world. Providing incorrect and unreliable information about vaccination to the public can cause fear and doubt among people.
In this interview, the infectious diseases doctor said that: «according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the vaccines «Sputnik V» and «QazCovid-In» should not be administered to children under 18 years of age and the elderly over 65 years of age. The agency said that these groups will be vaccinated at will. In addition, people suffering from severe allergies, chronic diseases, HIV-infected people are not recommended to be vaccinated or only on the basis of a doctor’s permission. It is also worth noting that vaccination is voluntary, that is, it can only be carried out with the consent of the person himself».
Our health is in our hands! We urge people to take care of their health, weighing all the pros and cons of this vaccination.
