Nauryz is the main holiday in the year both among the Kazakhs and many Turkic peoples of Asia, celebrated for more than 5000 years. In connection with this, the celebration of the Nauryz holiday by students of the 501 GM group and 407 PH was held at the Department of Public Health, and Dulat Kabdenovich Nurmukanov, a lecturer of the Public Health Department, was invited to visit.
Nauryz is a holiday of spring, a holiday of the New Year for many peoples. The traditions of celebrating this day go back centuries, since Nauryz is a pagan holiday that appeared long before the formation of the main world religions. According to scientists, Nauryz is already several thousand years old. Nauryz is a holiday of renewal and the coming of the New Year according to the solar calendar. It is believed that on this day nature wakes up, good and grace descends to the earth, and no evil spirits can penetrate the people's dwelling.
The festive table, covered on this day, must necessarily contain a ritual dish, usually of meat. So, the Kazakhs have such a treat is "Nauryz kozhe", which in its composition symbolizes the seven elements of life that a person needs. At present, Nauryz kozhe includes meat and fat, water and salt, flour and cereals, as well as milk. This dish was supposed to give special power to all its tasted, and the large cauldron in which Nauryz's kozhe is being prepared symbolizes unity.
Traditional for the celebration of Nauryz are horse races, competitions in the ability to stay in the saddle and the dexterity of riders. Also on this day there are numerous festivals of national cultures, in which the best singers, poets and musicians demonstrate their abilities and skills.
If snow fell on the day of the equinox, it was considered a good sign. In the distant past, the Kazakhs called Nauryz the Day of the Ulus (people), or the Great Ulus Day. There is a popular belief among the people: the more generous the holiday of Nauryz will be, the more prosperous the whole next year will be. Hence – the abundance of festive customs and attributes. On the eve of the holiday of the spring equinox, people cleaned up their lodgings, paid with their debts, the quarreling people were reconciled, for, as the old people asserted, when Nauryz enters people's houses, all illnesses and failures must bypass them. On the night before the celebration, all the vessels filled with milk, ayran, grain, spring water, in the hope of the abundance of milk, harvest and rain, and on the day of Nauryz everyone tried to be in good spirits, they hugged each other, greeted each other, adversities and misfortunes passed them.
